My Story

As an adoptive and foster parent, myself, I have seen firsthand both the beauty and the challenges of building family through nontraditional paths. These personal experiences fuel my commitment to providing trauma-informed, compassionate, and practical support for young people and families navigating the child welfare system.

Professionally, I pursued my Master of Social Work and became a Licensed Independent Social Worker – Clinical Practice (LISW-CP). I am trained in multiple evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT IFS and EMDR, to help individuals process trauma and reclaim their lives. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with many youths and families who remind me every day why this work matters. Jennifer's passion leads Jenny to committing to leading young adults to a meaningful life.

My story also led me to create the Selah Hope Foundation. I saw too many young adults aging out of foster care without the support, guidance, or community they deserve. Selah was born out of a deep calling to create a place of hope, healing, and belonging—where young people can dream big, make their own choices, and find the support they need to thrive.

Today, I bring together my clinical expertise, lived experience, and a genuine love for the people I serve. Whether through therapy sessions, advocacy, or our Supported Independent Living program, my mission is simple: to make sure no young person feels alone on their journey.
